Benefits of Piano Lessons
The body of research in the last decade is quite compelling:  Children who are learning to play the piano at a young age are more successful in math and other tasks requiring spatial-temporal reasoning skills.  Since the "Mozart Effect" yielded the possibility of such results 10 years ago, more and more studies have
determined that there is a significant impact on brain development for children who study piano from ages four to seven.  These studies point to having at least three continuous years of study before age seven to lock these benefits in to the brain.
Aside from the cognitive benefits, children who are engaged in music have the opportunity to feel the effects of music in their lives.  With a musical and nurturing teacher, children gain confidence and experience joy through music making.
